Nowadays our several clients approaching us for setting Digital Ocean space backup for their servers. We can now go through setting the s3cmd DigitalOcean space for storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skynats.com\/digitalocean-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"color:#0473a2\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Digital Ocean cloud management<\/span><\/a> plan our technical team will assist you to set up your Digital Ocean backup Space and configure backups to Spaces daily or weekly with auto retention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this first, you should have a Digital Ocean account, if you don&#8217;t have one you can create a new account on the Digital Ocean signup page. If not, create one on the DigitalOcean signup page to get started with S3CMD DigitalOcean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-small-font-size\" id=\"h-create-a-digital-ocean-space\"><strong>Create a Digital Ocean space<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to create a new space, you need to click on the &#8220;Create&#8221; option from the right side of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalocean.com\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-secondary-color\">Digital Ocean<\/mark><\/a> control panel. If you need to enable CDN for the service you can enable the CDN option there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two options available for &#8220;Allow file listing&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Restrict file listing :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This option enables the user who connects the space using the access key can list the contents in the space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Enable file listing :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This feature allows anyone to list the contents in the space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, you have to give a name for the space, and also you can assign the space to your projects in the Digital Ocean. Finally, you can create the space by proceeding with the &#8220;Create a space&#8221; option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-small-font-size\" id=\"h-generate-access-key\"><strong>Generate Access Key<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to access your space from outside of the Digital Ocean, you need to create an access key. An access key is a pair of random tokens that serves as a username and password to grant access to your space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, you have to click on the &#8220;Space&#8221; section on the home page. Then click on the &#8220;Generate New Key &#8221; option there and now a &#8220;New spaces key&#8221; popup window will open. You have to enter your &#8220;Key name&#8221; there and proceed with the &#8220;Generate Key&#8221; option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now you can see your access key and secret key in the spaces access keys section. The first is your access key and the second one is the secret key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-small-font-size\" id=\"h-what-is-s3cmd\"><strong>What is s3cmd?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>S3cmd is a free command-line tool that helps clients to upload, retrieve and manage the data in the spaces or any other cloud storage that uses s3 protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-small-font-size\" id=\"h-install-s3cmd-using-source\"><strong>Install s3cmd using source<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can download the s3cmd required version source file from the &#8220;https:\/\/s3tools.org\/download&#8221; page. Enter your access key and secret key there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Give the default space region that you selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Next you have to enter your space endpoint (You can get this from Digital Ocean &#8211;&gt; Space &#8211;&gt; settings &#8211;&gt;Endpoint).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Enter your &#8220;DNS-style bucket+hostname&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>Eg : %(bucket)s.nyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com\nWhere;\nbucket \u2013&gt; space name\nnyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com \u2013&gt; Space endpoint<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>5.
