For security purposes, you might want to limit access to WHM to only a select few IP addresses as the server owner or administrator. Host Access Control can help in this situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With WHM&#8217;s Host Access Control security feature, you can limit access to particular services, like WHM, based on IP address. The risk of unauthorized access or attacks is decreased by enabling IP restriction through Host Access Control, which makes sure that only trusted IP addresses can access WHM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the Port text box, type the port number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the IP Address\/CIDR text box, enter the IP address, CIDR subnet mask, or comma-separated list of IP addresses.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In this text box, wildcards are acceptable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li>IPv6 addresses do not need to be enclosed in square brackets ( [ ] ).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li>By entering a comma-separated list of IP addresses or a CIDR subnet mask, you can apply your rule to a number of different IP addresses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add \/NUMBER to your IP address to add the CIDR subnet mask. NUMBER is the number of network bits that an IP address must match in order to be subject to your rule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>=&gt; <\/strong>The first 24 bits of the requesting IP address (the first, second, and third numbers in the IP address) must match the rule IP address in the IPv4 example 192.168.0.0\/24. As a result, all IP addresses in the 192.168.0.1\u2013192.168.0.254 range will comply with the rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>=&gt;<\/strong> The first 64 bits of the requesting IP address must match the rule IP address in the IPv6 example 2001:0db8:0:0:1:0:0:1\/64. The rule will apply and be listed in the Current Rules table.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You can now successfully enable IP restriction for WHM access through Host Access Control by following these steps. All other IP addresses will be blocked from accessing WHM, leaving only the ones you have whitelisted.
